NASCAR has reached five-year agreements with each of the racetracks on the Sprint Cup Series circuit, meaning there will be no new venues on the calendar until at least 2021.
The sanctioning body released the long-awaited 2016 Sprint Cup Series schedule Monday afternoon, and there are only minor changes from this year’s 38-event calendar.
But there won't be any major alterations -- at least to the venues -- for at least five years. NASCAR wanted to give its tracks some stability and help fans plan time off around race dates further in advance.
