Clippers' Austin Rivers fined $25K for throwing seat cushion into crowd

Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers was fined $25,000 by the NBA for throwing a seat cushion into the stands at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento on Wednesday night, the league announced on Thursday.
Rivers, the 23-year-old reserve and son of Clippers coach/president of basketball operations Doc Rivers, can be seen on a league-issued video flinging the cushion out of frustration during the fourth quarter of the Clippers' 111-104 win over the Sacramento Kings.
He clearly had no intention of sending the cushion into the stands, but it elevated to the second row and delivered a jarring blow to the head of a woman in attendance. The woman, who was tended to by Clippers security officials and Sleep Train Arena security officials soon thereafter, is known to have experienced significant discomfort in at least one of her eyes as a result. USA TODAY Sports first reported the investigationinto the matter.
