Nightengale: Kansas City a Royal pain for Mets

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals are mosquitoes.
They are those pests that won’t go away.
Teams sure have tried this postseason, but after the Royals’ 7-1 victory Wednesday, they are now just two victories away from winning their first World Series in 30 years.
The Royals, who were on the ropes in in the first round of the American League Division Series and staggered in the second round of the ALCS, now are tormenting the New York Mets.
The Mets sent their fiercest pitchers in the first two games, but Jacob deGrom suffered the same fate in Game 2 as Matt Harvey did in Game 1.
They discovered that it’s impossible to knock out the Royals.
