Connor McDavid collides hard into boards, doesn't return to game

Edmonton Oilers rookie phenom Connor McDavid collided into the boards and injured his left shoulder on Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
McDavid was going toward the Flyers' net when he got tripped up by the pair of Flyers and went sliding hard into the boards. He emerged from the scrum holding his shoulder and went back to the Oilers' bench where he talked to the team's trainers. McDavid then walked gingerly to the locker room as the period ended.
Terry Jones of the Edmonton Sun reported moments later that McDavid was in the hallway outside the Oilers' dressing room with his skates off and shoulder in a sling.
The Oilers tweeted that he would not return to the game.
McDavid, 18, has 12 points (5G, 7 A) through 12 games this season.
